Get Some Home Screen Inspiration from MyColorScreen

I haven’t really participated in a “Show Your Homescreen Thread” since the good old day of Windows Mobile. However, these threads remain incredibly popular for Android users. After all, there’s nothing quite like that little dopamine kick that comes from knowing somebody else approves of your meticulous widget placement. The natural extension of these type of threads then, is of course, an entire site devoted to the sharing and discussion of peoples device set ups. That site is MyColorScreen.
Unfortunately due to the site’s image-heavy nature, it can be something of a nuisance to view from a mobile browser. Therefore, XDA Senior Member frenzyboi has created an application for browsing the site while on the move. Some of the applications most notable features include:
- Server side caching for improved loading times
- Viewing of comments/favourites/likes
- Copying items to clipboard for sharing
- Full screen viewing.
The app provides pretty much all of the functionality of the website in a compact and easy to navigate interface. You’ll still be able to access all the relevant information for each screen in case you want to find out how to recreate them for yourself. The app also follows those all important Android design guidelines, making it intuitive and easy on the eye. Despite the site’s support for both Android and iOS homescreens, the app currently only displays screenshot from the Android side of the fence. I’ll let you decide whether that’s a plus or a minus.
Check out the original application thread for more information.
