As virtually everyone knows, one of the coolest features of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is, without a doubt, it’s ability to play Playstation games. The capacity to play old favorites on an Android phone and have that nifty controller just sounded like such a good idea. The sad part being that not many other phones can share in the Playstation love.
For users of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, you can kiss those days of incompatibility goodbye. XDA Senior Member DiKeJ has been able to successfully port the Playstation certifications and the Xperia Play launcher to the X10, allowing users the same look, feel and access to Playstation games that the Xperia Play has.
The modification is pretty straightforward and only requires that you’re rooted and have your favorite file manager ready. Just take the .jar files, place them in the appropriate folders, reboot and install the attached apk and you’re off to the races. There are a couple of setbacks and unintended features, as DiKeJ notes:
*Info#1 – Tested on 2.3.3 ROMs, don’t know if this work on other.*
*Info#2 – It can improve performance of ROM and free RAM a little, that’s beacuse of some comends/scripts. Cheers.*
So if you’re toting an Xperia X10 and want some Xperia Play Playstation goodness, head on over to the original thread for complete instructions, download links and, once completed, fun like you can only get from a Playstation game._________
