Get Weather Information in Jelly Bean Notification Shade with Notification Weather

Many of us rely on our smartphones to get weather updates and forecasts. We glance at our favorite weather app in the morning before deciding what to wear to work, and whether to take an umbrella along. While Android has a plethora of weather apps and widgets available, many of them have features that are overkill for most of us. If you’re looking for nothing more than quick access to your current local weather conditions and forecast for the next few days, free app Notification Weather puts it right in your Jelly Bean notification shade.
XDA Forum Member orbar developed Notification Weather while learning Android app development. There are no unnecessary animations, no multiple city support, no unnecessary bells and whistles—just the local weather information and forecast in black and white (literally), and it looks great! There is one shortcoming that we noticed however: The app currently doesn’t take the time of day into account for all weather condition images, and shows the sun peeking from behind the clouds even at night. This isn’t a big issue, though, and will probably be addressed in a future version.
