There are literally hundreds of different named color shades, with infinite shades actually possible and just waiting to be given a name. Now what are you to do if you see a shade of blue or yellow in a pic you recently snapped up with your phone and want to use it with something? Maybe you can try an app called Exotic Colors.
Developed by XDA Forum Member Leonidan, Exotic Colors allow users to find the color that they wish to pin-point with extreme accuracy. Exotic Colors consists of a comprehensive library of over 700 named shades of colors, as well as their hex, RGB, and decimal representations. It also features similar colors shades, as well as other specific details.
The app allows users to take a photo with your camera or import images already stored on the device to analyze. By zooming in and out and hovering the onscreen cursor over the color-shade-of-interest, users can see the details mentioned previously, as well as the complementary, analogous, and triadic colors, just to mention a few. Colors can be saved to a palette’ for further reference and shared through SMS, Cloud storage, or any other share intent of choice.
A most useful tool for photographic and aesthetic design purposes, Leonidan has packed all this into only 2 megabytes, along with support for Android versions 2.2 and newer. Exotic Colors is available in English and Russian and can be downloaded for free from the Play store. If this interests you, make sure to head over to the original thread for more details.
