Getting Closer – Perma-Temp Root for EVO3D Finally Stable!
Posted July 14, 2011 at 06:00 pm by egzthunder1
The EVO 3D has been out in the news quite a bit recently and for a good reason. It seems that many of our best devs are going at it full time trying to get past HTC’s latest security implementation to prevent people from gaining root access and S-Off on the device. Not too long ago, a few methods that provided some relief for root hungry EVO 3D users were released but they are still not perfect. They can be reverted and they are partial as they do not allow flashing of roms or kernels. Moreover, the fixes need to be re-applied often. Well, making this perma-temp root a bit closer to something more useful is one of XDA Recognized Developer eugene373‘s goals for this phone. Today, he released the latest incarnation of his root for the EVO 3D, which he deemed as finally stable. Among the fixes, Superuser now works well and re-applying the root if lost is as easy as typing “fixit” on a terminal window.
As of now, the only real thing left to do is to achieve full root on the device, an event which will come to pass soon. For now, please leave some feedback for the dev if this worked for you.
Revamped due to new Method:
~ Superuser Apps now Function
~ If you Lose Root, all you have to do is Open terminal & type SU then type fixit! > No More Rebooting & running the exploit again for R/W on system to get Root back in place
~ Fixed R/O Bug!!
~ R/W is now Forced
~ /system is fully editable now! until reboot that is.
~ Busybox is installed to /vendor/bin
~ hex Edited libext4
~~ This is the Last Update due to it working & Stable ~~
