We have seen some rather good devices that just flat out refuse to drop from grace in the past, but the HTC Vogue has to be the toughest cookie out there. XDA member dzo has made the first official port of Gingerbread onto the HTC Vogue. This little device has nearly bug free ports of every Android OS that has come out to date and it seems that with a few exceptions like GPS and ability to shoot video, this device is fully functional (yes, even the camera).
The dev mentioned that this is just a simple build and that he, as usual, is just putting his efforts out in the open for other chefs to have a chance to play with this new delicious treat. Speeds have been reported to be similar to Froyo builds, so if you feel adventurous…. give it a shot.
I’ve built the Gingerbread AOSP release for Vogue and a system image is here:
It’s not perfect yet and as you know I don’t have a connected vogue any more but it should be good as a base for other roms and for testing.
The camera now works and the dialler and other activities should fit better.
You can find more information in the port thread.
