Back when sharing pictures on the Internet was new, and online portfolio storage was beginning to emerge, Flickr made a splash as being a simple and cost-effective way to share your images online. A few years later, and dozens of similar sites later, Flickr no longer has such a large chunk of the online photo sharing market, and unfortunately their Android app leaves a lot to the imagination. That said, many photographers still find themselves at home on the service, so improving the Android app experience is of importance.
Thanks to XDA Senior Member brk3, a new app has entered, trying and bring back Flickr’s luster. The app is called “Glimmer” and he’s calling it “The Unofficial App for Flickr.” It brings with it the following features:
* Swipe through you and your contacts photos with ease.
* Group support.
* Comment on photos and view detailed exif info.
* Notifications for when your contacts post new photos.
* No Ads.
* Lots more to come.
Glimmr is in its first release, so head over to the application thread and give him your feedback._________
