Worldwide Google Play Services 4.4 Rollout Now Complete

Exactly two weeks ago, we talked about the release of Google Play Services 4.4 and the many new features that it brings. Since then, we’ve seen a few minor bug fixes, culminating in the most recently released 4.4.52 build that we shared last week.
Despite all of the minor point revisions that we’ve seen in the last two weeks, Play Services 4.4 from two weeks ago had not yet made its way out to all devices worldwide. Thankfully, the rollout has now finished, which means that developers can now feel free to use all of the new APIs housed within.
As a quick refresher, Play Services 4.4 gives developers several new APIs such as a new Google Maps Street View API, activity recognition for the location API, better game services support, wallet fragments, and tweaked mobile ads. To help developers learn more about Play Services and what you can do with its new APIs, Googler Magnus Hyttsten created a cheesy video detailing Play Services 4.4 and all it brings. Moreover, it also has a hilariously awkward Hyttsten demonstrate his running and climbing form.
App developers, if you were holding back from integrating Play Services 4.4 into your app-in-progress, now’s the time to use these APIs and never look back—well unless a wild Magnus Hyttsten appears…
