Hands On with the Sony Xperia S, Tablet S, Tablet P

The Sony Ericsson brand might be gone, but we can look forward to some pretty compelling pieces of Sony hardware in 2012. XDA TV was on location at CES 2012 to film some hands-on with the Xperia S, Tablet S, and Tablet P. Click on for the video and check out Sony’s latest and greatest!

First up we have the Xperia S which is a slim and handsome Android 2.3 smartphone. It will be upgradable to Android 4.0 not too long after launch. It’s running with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5GHz dual-core CPU with 1GB of RAM. The screen is 4.3″ at 720p resolution. On the rear you’ll find an impressive 12MP camera that can take video at 1080p. You can choose 16 or 32GB of space, but there will be no microSD expansion slot. Look for the Xperia S, to be available in black and white, in Q1.

Next up we have the Sony Tablet S and Tablet P. The former has been around for several months and features a 9.4″ display with 1280×800 resolution, a dual-core Tegra 2 CPU running at 1.0GHz, plus dual cameras and 32GB of storage. It’s running on Android 3.2 but will soon get an ICS upgrade. It can be had for $500 at Best Buy and Amazon. The Tablet P is the more interesting of the two. It has a unique dual-screen design. Each screen is 5.5″ at 1024×480 resolution and is also powered by a dual-core Tegra 2 at 1.0GHz. Look for the Tablet P to be available on AT&T, though no availability and pricing has not been announced.
