HBoot in HTC devices is central to the overall development experience, especially if you intend on rooting and unlocking the bootloader your device. However, bootloaders aren’t just for unlocking or flashing RUUs to get back to stock. They can actually be useful for a variety of other things. XDA Senior Member dla5244 has released a beta of a custom HBoot version 2.00 named Blackrose, which is available for anyone who’s rocking a HTC Incredible S.
In order to get started, your current HBoot must be S-Off. Blackrose is feature packed and includes things that you cannot get in a typical HBoot. The features includes:
Removed oem lock, unlock command(because there is no need to unlock)
*.I will release new BlackRose after Official ICS release(I think hboot will be changed)
Feature – Nexus One BlackRose (Just Reference)
None padlock mark even unlocked
BlackRose custom command
Change boot logo
Select menu by pressing trackball
Switch vibration at boot
CRC32 check function
Prevent overwrite HBOOT by RUU
The installation of the HBoot is pretty easy, simply, plug the phone into a PC with USB Debugging on (charging only) and run the install.bat file. To revert, plug it back in and run the uninstall.bat.
If your Incredible S already is S-Off and you want to give it a shot, you can find all information you need in the original thread. Keep in mind that you are flashing bootloaders, so there is the potential for your phone to get pretty messed up. Proceed with caution._________
