How To Edit The HTC Sense Weather Location Database

Do you live somewhere that doesn’t show up on weather apps or widgets? Do you wish there was some way to make your town show up? Well XDA forum member Hotrod68 has come up with a way to do this for HTC Sense on his EVO 4G.

The db file that requires editing is located at the /data/data directory, so root access will be required to retrieve and edit the file. The XDA member recommends Root Explorer or QtADB.

To edit the database, use a free SQLite Database Browser to navigate to the locationlist. You can then add a new record. The information is in Accuweather format, so you’ll need to retrieve that from the website. Once done, a reboot should be enough for you to enjoy your new locations.

For detailed instructions, head on over to the forum thread.
