How To Migrate SMS From WinMo To Android And Vice Versa

For those of you running both Windows Mobile and Android on your mobile devices (e.g. HD2), XDA forum member Cheech1976 has posted a detailed tutorial on how to migrate your text messages from one OS to the other.

The XDA member states that running both OS’s works quite well with no reason to choose just one, other than that he could not have his text messages on both. After much searching and testing, the XDA member has finally found a way.

From WM to Android, you will need to install a cab file in order to export your text messages in XML format and edit. Once edited and booted into Android, you’ll then need to load SMS Backup and Restore from the Android Market (free) to import the edited XML.

From Android to WM, you’ll need to load the SMS Backup app from the Android Market (free) in order to export your messages in Android in XML format and edit as before.

For full comprehensive instructions, head on over to the tutorial thread.
