If you are an an owner of one of the early versions of the Motorola Defy, then you may be familiar with the earpiece problems that have been widely reported.
It seems that these early models have been seen to suffer from the earpiece failing after just a few months of use. XDA forum member wizard123 was one of these owners, and has posted a tutorial on how to resolve the issue by replacing the earpiece yourself.
It requires dismantling your Defy so this is not for the unsteady of hand. You’ll also need a new K850i earpiece to replace the defective hardware and a pair of pliers and very small torx screwdrivers.
