There is nothing quite like flashing a new ROM and finding out one of your favorite applications didn’t make the cut. Usually, this is no big deal, as it’s a matter of installing the application or, at worst, dropping an application into /system/app with a root file manager and modifying permissions. Sometimes, though, the application requires a little more than that—namely the inclusion of libraries. This often happens with proprietary HTC applications. For HTC Rezound owners, there is now a short guide to help get HTC Location and HTC Footprints back onto any ROM has them removed.
The short tutorial, written by XDA Forum Member Budderz, is also a practical guide for restoring any application that requires additional libraries. For HTC Locations and HTC Footprints, users simply need to download the libraries and program files provided by Budderz. Then, users move the apps into /system/app using their favorite root explorer. From there, they then have to move the libraries into /system/lib.
