How-To: Wireless Tether for Rooted HTC Aria
Posted July 29, 2010 at 03:00 pm by ElCondor
A new (unofficial) version of Wireless Tether has been released. This version is confirmed to be working properly on the HTC Aria — other versions weren’t successfully connecting to the internet. XDA member attn1 reported about the update, which was originally created for the Desire and Incredible. He refers to Harald Mueller, who seems to be the creator of the update. As most information is all scattered around the forums, we thought it would be better to post a little how-to here. Credits go to XDA members attn1, acedj123 for extracting the .bin, hashbrown, breakeven and the original developers.
- Install wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre3.apk using adb install, HTC Sync or from SD card
- Create a directory named “android.tether“
- Download fw_bcm4329.rar
- Unzip the downloaded file, and copy the content (fw_bcm4329.bin) to /sdcard/android.tether
- Launch Wireless Tether from SD card
Note that your Aria needs to be rooted.
