HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE Finally Gets Non-HTCDev Bootloader Unlock

With most HTC devices, permanent root isn’t overly difficult. Most HTC owners can visit the HTCDev website, unlock their bootloader, then get a custom recovery before finally flashing a root zip. What makes it easy is the HTCDev unlock process. Even though it isn’t perfect, it does give devs and users enough to play with things like custom ROMs. So what happens when HTCDev doesn’t support your device? Just ask HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE owners.
After a couple of weeks of being able to unlock via HTCDev, the site shut down the ability to unlock Incredible 4G LTE bootloaders. It’s not really a secret that Verizon does this to practically all of their devices. So a new method for bootloader unlocking began and was recently completely. XDA Forum Member jose51197 posted a new method to unlock bootloaders. Of course, there are others who helped, including:
Bin4ry for temproot method
Grankin01 for the cid base
mdmower for correcting script
Superdave for discovering temp root(forgot to mention before sorry)
There are two ways to do it. The first method is an auto script that will do pretty much everything for you. Of course, the second way is the good old fashioned hard way, where users perform all the actions themselves. If you’re feeling lazy, then option one is probably your best bet. If you’re down for getting your hands dirty, option two may be more your speed.
