Technology isn’t fast enough. At least, this is the impression I get when asking users what they’d like to see from their various hardware. We’re a power-hungry community obsessed with making our technology faster and faster, and never concluding it’s meeting our speed-greed.
With this knowledge, it comes as no surprise HTC might be working on their first-ever quad-core smartphone (and perhaps the first-ever in the entire industry). The phone, dubbed the HTC Edge, is rumored to have four 1.5GHz cores, powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 CPU. The phone features a 4.7” display, a trend for HTC as of late with the Sensation XL and Titan, plus 720p display resolution like the new HTC Rezound. It’ll also have 1GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM, and an 8mp camera with an f/2.2 aperture for low-light performance. Specific pricing and availability is unknown, but Pocketnow expects the device to land in the first half of next year.
