Despite not being based on tablet-optimised Honeycomb, the ROM for the upcoming HTC Flyer tablet has attracted considerable attention due to the integration of a refreshed version of the HTC Sense interface, along with many other useful features.
Over on the Samsung Galaxy Tab forums, several users have come together with the intention of garnering enough developmental attention for a port of the Flyer’s Gingerbread-based ROM to the older device. Although they don’t expect it to be an easy task, the fact that the Galaxy Tab and the Flyer both have a 600 by 1024 pixel resolution display (unlike the 800 by 1280 found on almost all other popular Android tablets) should make such a port a fairly realistic premise.
Interest in the cause has recently been piqued after the Flyer’s software was dumped and uploaded. If you think you can help out, head on over to the project thread for more information._________
