ICS keeps making its way across different devices in our beloved site. One of the most recent ones was in a newly added device on the site, the Galaxy i9003. According to a thread started by XDA member fuss132, the port is a very early, almost pre-alpha if you will, version of this new OS. Unlike other ICS ports, this one is still very (and I do mean very) young in terms of maturity and features working on it. However, this has never been an issue for the wonderful devs over at this site. This is basically how it all starts: port boots and everything else just follows afterwards. The sheer willpower of devs will likely get more things working soon, but for the time being you should only expect a booting rom with a half-functional touch screen. Not what you would consider a daily driver, yet fun to play with and give you an idea of whats coming.
If you are interested in trying this out and understand that this is not for anyone needing to use the device for anything other than development, then by all means download a copy and flash away. Also remember that the true sources for ICS are not far down the road, so more will likely become available once ICS hits the streets.
- It´s booting
- Touchscreen in some ways…
