If you were all happy with all the ports that have been flourishing across xda on the upcoming ICS OS, then this will likely be of your liking. It seems that good ol’ Google decided to release the sources of their new OS even a tad before the official release of the Galaxy Nexus. What this means is that you will likely see AOSP roms sporting Android 4.0 in your favorite devices right around the corner. However, the news don’t stop there. As it turns out, along with the ICS sources, Google decided to release the highly anticipated sources for all 3 major releases of Honeycomb. According to the blog post, these sources are not exactly complete due to the fact that they wanted people to focus all of their efforts on Android 4.0. But, having said that, for all those chefs on current tabs, the kitchen just got an extension courtesy of Google.
Well, what are you all waiting for? If you are still thinking about flashing that SDK port onto your device, hold off for a little bit longer. The good roms are coming soon… really soon!
Hi! We just released a bit of code we thought this group might be interested in.
Over at our Android Open-Source Project git servers, the source code
for Android version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is now available.
