There are plenty of SMS apps for tablets out there, but this one is quite peculiar as it requires your phone to send and receive the texts. One would think that this is kinda pointless, but for people who would much rather text from a 7-10 inch screen rather than a thumb keyboard it would likely mean the end of fat finger typos. This is rather interesting alternative is presented by XDA member apDroid. The first release of this app is still in rather early beta, but it seems to work well for the most part. Your tab and phone will have to share some sort of connection either via Wifi, or Bluetooth, and both devices will have to have the app installed. The best part is that if you are not too certain on how to send proper feedback about crashes, the device will do this automatically, so you will always send the dev what he needs to fix the app.
The dev is looking for “extensive feedback” as he believes that the UI is missing quite a few elements. Please share your thoughts with him as well as any and all bug reports you may come across.
Tablet Talk is an application for text messaging on tablets. It requires that the tablet be connected to an Android phone also running Tablet Talk. When a message is received on the phone, it is forwarded to the tablet. When a message is sent from the tablet, it is forwarded to the phone. The tablet and phone can be connected either via Bluetooth or Wifi. For Wifi, they must be on the same network.
You can find more information in the application thread.
