Holo UI was introduced just over two years ago with Ice Cream Sandwich. It was Google’s attempt to unify the look of Android, and in time became a quite successful project. Now apps look better, feature pleasing colors, and compose really nice with Jelly Bean or KitKat. Holo became a standard, but some applications still use their own style, which simply doesn’t fit to modern UI.
Some popular applications are still not Holo-ed, and that’s why XDA Forum Member conRAWR started a project aimed to “Holofy” them. So far Holofication Nation, which is the name of the project, modified three applications. Users of Instagram, Steam, and Snapchat can forget about their less than pleasing UIs, and get the most of their Holo experience. The project will surely grow and cover major applications that aren’t converted yet. All requests can be made in the project’s Google+, but you can share your opinion about the apps in the team’s XDA thread.
If you use the aforementioned apps and want to see them in Holo glory, you need to uninstall the official applications and replace them with modified versions. Screens, information, and the modified files, can be found in the original thread. So make your way there, and spread the #holoyolo word._________
