Galaxy Nexus Kernel Patch Allows Force AC Charge for Faster Charging

Developers are always finding ways to pack more juice in the battery. There are countless battery saving scripts, schedulers and specialized, albeit controversial, charging methods such as Superior Battery Charging. However, sometimes it’s just as important to have the battery charge quickly as it is to have the battery lose charge slowly.
XDA Senior Member chad0989 has released a patch for developers of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus that will allow for Force AC Charging, which will make the phone charge more quickly. For the end user, this would be very useful for people who need a quick charge on the go, or only have a few minutes to plug in their devices.
Now keep in mind, this is for developers only and there’s no flashable zip or applicable patch for the average user. The patch is meant to be placed in the kernel before it’s compiled, so don’t go trying to use this unless you can compile your own. If you do end up running a kernel with this patch applied, there is an application you still have to use to enable the Force AC charging called IncrediControl. It is free of charge, but Force AC doesn’t work without it.
For developers who want to check it out, you can find the download link for the patch and application in the original thread._________
