KitKat Leak (VS98024A) Appears for the Verizon LG G2!

Although it’s nearing its first birthday, the LG G2 is still a very high end, flagship-level device. As such, it has been shown some official KitKat OTA love in various regions, starting all the way back in November of last year for the Korean version! But while T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint variants of the G2 have all received their official 4.4.2 OTAs, the Verizon model has apparently been left out in the cold.

No, unfortunately an official Android 4.4 OTA for the  is still not here. However, we at least have a very highly functioning leak. And now thanks to XDA Senior Member xdabbeb, who describes the process in great detail, you can install it on your own Verizon LG G2.

To install the leaked VS98024A KitKat build, you must first return to 100% stock and be on the VS98012B software build. This can be accomplished by using a TOT or KDZ file. After that, you must root your device, but not install a recovery or modify anything else. Then, you run a series of commands through ADB, and your phone will be updated to the KitKat leak. And if you want to install a custom recovery after getting the leak loaded on the device, you’re covered as well!

You can learn more about the procedure and download all the appropriate files by visiting xdabbeb’s original thread.

[Many thanks to workdowg for the tip!]
