Learn How to Theme Jelly Bean SystemUI

Jelly Bean’s release, and subsequent porting to a plethora of devices, has firmly ingrained the newest version of Android into our community. With the exception of some of the bugs that still need to be fixed on certain ports, the hardest part is done. The community can now shift from getting Jelly Bean onto their devices to learning more about Jelly Bean, how it works, how to theme it, and all kinds of other fun things.
XDA Senior Member powerpoint45 has done just that with a tutorial that walks users through the ins and outs of theming the systemUI.apk of Jelly Bean. This includes de-compiling, making the actual edits and mods, and finally recompiling. This could be a very good guide for beginning themers looking to get into Jelly Bean theming or anyone looking to practice these tasks. The guide has two major parts. The first is for Linux users, and the second is for Windows users. Linux users will need file roller and APKTool at the very least, and Windows users will require 7zip, Java, and APKTool.
