Wait, what… Why in the UAE? OK, let’s take a few steps back first. Have you ever had a hard time finding parking in your city, any city? With so many cars on the road, that’s quite the universal struggle now. This is also something that XDA Recognized Developer GadgetCheck‘s app mPark is hoping to fix—even if it isn’t applicable to your area just yet.
The aptly-titled mPark app uses the SMS-based mPark parking allocation system. How it works is that it automates the process of sending a tediously-crafted SMS to reserve spots using the mPARK system so that you don’t have to. While there are certainly many more significant annoyances in life than struggling with SMS parking allocations, this should shave a significant amount of time for those using the service often. The app lets you pre-define cars to be used with the service so you don’t have to manually enter your vehicle’s tag number every time you wish to reserve a spot. It then allows you to select how long you wish to reserve a spot, as well as in which zone you wish to park.
Currently, Dubai is the app’s one and only supported city, so this certainly isn’t for everyone. However, more will be added in the future, and since mPARK is used in many large cities globally, this can become quite useful in the future. If you’re looking for hassle-free parking in Dubai or want to check out the app in hopes that your mPARK-enabled city is added soon, head over to the application thread._________
