Mira Hopes to be Android’s Siri

The quest for finding an Android equivalent of the iPhone’s personal assistant software Siri has been long and arduous. Some come close but fall short, and others are rip offs of the ones that come close and fall short. Others yet get one feature spot on and neglect the rest.
These are all problems that XDA Forum Member Limit8 intends to fix with his new personal assistant application Mira. The feature list on Mira is pretty basic so far, but the development toward a full and finished product has been very apparent in the nearly constant updates provided by developers. Thus far, the feature list is:
- Please ask if you want to have more information about Sara
– Database and algorithm is served offline
– Database is at the time very small
– Works offline with a text box
– Learns your name
– Can grab weather information
– Can grab location information
– Ask her for the time
– Many more functions going to be included
The developer is also accepting suggestions on sentences that Mira should know and everyone involved in the project keeps users up to date with frequent blog entries and updates. Could this be the Siri replacement we’ve all been waiting for? Those interested can find a promotional video, download links, blog links, full feature list, and change logs along with a link to the suggestions site in the original thread.
