Modify Settings on a Per App Basis with PerApp

The smartphone is, of course, smart. On its own, it can perform a large number of wide and varied tasks. With additional apps, it can build on those tasks and accomplish much more. There are a number of apps on the market that allow you to automate your phone to perform various tasks based on predefined conditions. One problem with these apps is that they often require you to have some understanding of programming to get the most from them. Thus, getting them to perform something as simple as locking screen rotation can be an effort.

XDA Senior member arpruss looked for such an app, but was unimpressed with the available options, so decided to create his own. Enter PerApp. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Allows you to set a number of settings on a per app basis.

PerApp currently lets you set the following options:

  • Volume boost
  • Orientation lock
  • Min/max CPU speed (with root)
  • Screen timeout length

What sets this app apart from others is that there are no complex rules, variables, or flags to be set. It’s as simple as clicking on an installed app and choosing which of the available settings you wish to have enabled for that app.

Arpruss states that the PerApp is still in a pre-release state, with more development to come, but is still completely functional.

If you want to try it out, head over to the application thread.
