Modify the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Keyboard Dock to Work With the Galaxy Tab 7.7

Generally speaking, hardware modifications are done in order to implement a specific feature or remove a specific features. However, there are some hardware mods out there that are designed to give the user a choice of further changes. In some cases, those mods can be even better than specific, single purpose mods. This is the case for the original keyboard dock of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and make it compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7.
XDA Forum Member shazoom has released a method that allows users with the Galaxy Tab 7.7 to get into the keyboard dock which allows users to not only make it compatible with the Galaxy Tab 7.7, but also add or subtract any number of keys to make the keyboard more suit their style. However, since this is a hardware modification, please exercise caution if attempting. As stated by shazoom:
Be careful. It’s only plastic and don’t blame me if you break it.
So be sure that while disassembling to be very careful and to not break anything. To help the process, shazoom has added strategies for disassembling the trouble spots. It feels like there should be a Short Circuit disassemble joke in there somewhere, but we’ll keep going forward. By the end of the mod, you’ll have a perfectly taken apart dock and it will be ready for additional modification besides making it compatible with the Tab 10.1, whatever your additional modification may be. Be sure you understand that this mod can break your keyboard dock and to use this method means doing so at your own risk.

Big thank you goes out to XDA Recognized Developer TRusselo for helping out with the additional information about the modification.
