Keep Tabs on Your Cryptocurrency Mining with Litecoin Mining Pool Monitor

By now, it’s pretty hard to find someone who’s not yet heard of Bitcoin. Although Bitcoin (BTC) is the far and away most respected and the first digital coin to gain notoriety, it is far from the only cryptocurrency available. As such, there are a slew of alternatives to choose from, with new coins popping up practically every day. Among these so-called “altcoins,” Litecoin arguably reigns supreme.
For the uninitiated, there are two ways for the average consumer to acquire cryptocurrency: purchase / trade coins through a cryptocurrency exchange, or “mine” for coins by solving complex cryptographic equations using your CPU, GPU, or dedicated ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) hardware. If you’re one of the many who have chosen to dedicate resources to mining altcoins, monitoring exchange rates and your hardware’s hash rate is key.
Thanks to XDA Forum Member relja.m, you can now keep track of your mining progress and the LTC exchange rate straight from your mobile device. The aptly titled Litecoin Mining Pool Monitor allows you to connect to a supported MPOS-based pool and pull information such as hash rate, accepted and rejected shares, earnings, balance, and worker status. The app also pulls exchange rate data from one of 7 trading platforms.
Litecoin Mining Pool Monitor currently supports ten pools, most of which mine Litecoin directly. However, a few of the pools such as MultiPool and LTCRabbit also support mining other altcoins for theoretically higher profitability.
