Moto X 2014 Android Lollipop Soak Test, OTA Captured!

Google has somehow been beaten to the punch in bringing the Android 5.0 update to their existing Nexus lineup. Prior to the release of Lollipop, not many of us thought that any OEM would be able to provide a new version of Android faster than Google. Well, we were wrong and we don’t regret it.
Just a short while ago, we talked about the Moto X 2014 and internal tests of Lollipop done by Motorola or Lenovo. Those test must have went pretty well, because Motorola started to roll out a planned soak test on a select group of Moto X 2014 Pure Edition users. These lucky testers might taste the Android in Lollipop flavor on their devices starting today!
All major features known from previous versions of Android like lock screen notifications, interruption control, and screen pinning have been successfully ported over the new release. Soak tests generally don’t take a long time, and Moto X 2014 owners will soon be able to enjoy the official firmware release on their phones.
If that isn’t enough, XDA Forum Moderator graffixnyc has managed to capture and mirror the OTA for users looking to get in on the semi-official Lollipop action a bit early! Just make sure to read all the instructions and understand all the risks before you begin flashing. So if you’ve got a Moto X 2014 and you want to try out the latest firmware before it’s live for everyone, head over to the link above, as well as the Moto X forum for updates.
