As it is customary, the CyanogenMod AOSP rom makes its way into virtually every new device out there and the Motorola Triumph seems to not be the exception to the rule. While it is a slow process, it is going on nicely and much to everyone’s delight, XDA member Genesis3 just got the radio working properly on this new 2.3.5 version of Gingerbread (CM7, of course). According to a video posted by the dev, the device seems to be able to have two way communication (send/receive) working for both calls and SMS. However, the device still lacks data, which is attributed to the device believing that this has not yet been provisioned for the device. Another thing is that sound is still missing, which renders the phone kinda useless at this point in the project. Not a daily driver just yet, but slowly getting there. Big props to the people working on all this!
The port is at a very early alpha stage and still has a lot of things missing. However, if you would like to become part of this, make sure that you test it out and report feedback (in the form of a logcat if you know how to do it).
That’s real progress – we now have a working radio.
