So, you got your new shiny, slim, and Intel-loaded Motorola RAZR i, and could not be more grateful to Motorola for allowing you to unlock your bootloader simply simply handing them your
soul warranty. Your device is now ready to flash anything that comes across your screen, be it a kernel or a ROM. However, not too many devs have purchased the device yet, and as a result, not too many ROMs are available. So, you are stuck with stock. However, thanks to having the bootloader unlocked, you can get your device rooted for all your root-requesting apps needs.
XDA Forum Member mattlgroff released a tool called RAZR i Root that allows users to root their devices in a seamless fashion, with little to no knowledge of adb. You have to have the proper drivers installed in Windows, but the tool takes care of everything for you once it is launched—everything from pushing an unsecured kernel, which was developed by XDA Forum Member meyskld, all the way to setting up permissions and pushing SuperSU to the device.
The tool works for any OS (Windows, Linux, and Mac). Please take this complete tool for a spin and enjoy your fully unlocked RAZR i. As usual any feedback for the dev is highly appreciated.
Before you do anything, you must unlock the bootloader on your RAZR i.
