New 3D UI Concept for Android – Introducing Claystone

“Yo Dawg, I herd you like UI’s, so we put an UI in your UI, so you can browse content while you view content”. Ok, so the Xzibit meme is a bit over the top and maybe not absolutely necessary to describe the app. However, what XDA member claystoneinc and his team has developed is still pretty amazing. As it turns out, the whole concept of a 3D looking UI seems to have sparked the best in developer’s minds, and as such Claystone 3D was born. The UI consists of stacked 3D panels that have embedded content in them. You can view anything from documents, shortcuts, video, browse the web, and much more. Moreover, the app takes full advantage of OpenGL and it has 2 viewing modes: full screen and full view, which is a large 3D window.
The devs are looking for feedback on their beta release. So, please leave good feedback so that future releases can be improved.
We are in the process of launching a new 3D Android home screen replacement called Claystone and to improve the product we are looking for feedback about the UI and overall functionality before we launch on Android Market.
What is unique about this home screen replacement is a 3D user interface with embedded viewers for video, photos, file browsing, web browser, YouTube, contacts and more. The UI was designed for browsing content while you are viewing content.
