Nook Color Getting Official Froyo Update

nook froyo

Better late than never, but the Nook Color seems to be getting their much deserved, official Froyo update today. This was rumored a few days ago by XDA member Tool Belt, who posted a link to another site, which claimed that this would be the case. Needless to say, NC owners have been enjoying Froyo goodness (and Gingerbread as well) for quite a while now. This, however, is always nice as the base on which the update was made, likely contains a few improved official drivers, apps, features, and much more. This will likely open the doors for many of our devs to start tweaking, extracting things, and hopefully, building new roms from a much more stable base.

There are mixed reports but all of them point at this being far better than the original stock. Having tried a NC with original stock myself, I can only say that they would have had to work REALLY hard to actually make it worse. Have you tested this yet? Please leave us your thoughts.

NOOK Color’s update to Android OS 2.2/Froyo offers system improvements, browser performance and a more complete Web experience giving customers access to enjoy even more video, interactive and animated content. NOOK Color now includes support for Adobe® Flash® Player
