Notifications for Jelly Bean Lockscreen

A smartphone’s lock screen is probably its most viewed and accessed feature, so it makes sense for many users to find lock screen┬ánotifications to be extremely useful and practical. The problem is, Google’s latest Android version Jelly Bean, doesn’t have a lock screen with that functionality, which is why it’s great to see “Lock Screen Notifications Widget” pop up in the XDA forums.

An independently developed app by XDA Forum Member Roymam, Lock Screen Notifications Widget designates an area of the lock screen to display notifications. It is specifically intended for Android 4.2, but has been reported working with 4.04 as well. Roymam has packed in many features and customization choices such as clearing all notifications, turning on screen when a notification arrives, and displaying a small or large ‘time and date.’ The other great perk is that the app runs as accessibility service, meaning it can receive notifications on anything rather than being restricted to missed calls, emails, text messages, and Facebook.┬áInstructions to have these notifications displayed are simple, and the app does not require root access.

Working for android versions 4.0.4 and 4.2, Roymam has made Lock Screen notifications Widget exclusively free and can be found in the original thread.
