We are proud to announce the release of our first book, the XDA Developers’ Android Hacker’s Toolkit. Written by Jason Tyler with contributions by yours truly, the book provides new users what they need in order to dive into the world of Android modification.
The book takes you through the basics of Android customization, starting with rooting various example devices. These devices range from those seemingly designed for modification such as the Google Nexus One, and extend to some of the more locked down devices of recent memory. The book then touches on the fun things can be accomplished with your newly rooted device. And finally, it covers setting up and using the tools required to get started in theming and customizing your own device to make it truly your own. All in all, the book is geared at helping new users learn more about their favorite mobile OS, starting from the ground-up.
Another benefit of the book is that it will help new XDA members better utilize the forums, as it explains how the site is organized and how to find and choose various development assets for your phone or tablet.
