Posted March 25, 2010 at 12:31 pm by mic_888
NubDial is a smart dialer for Android, adding extra functionality not available on the stock dialer. Developed by XDA member Wysie, NubDial is based off the open-sourced SpellDial (by Lawrence Greenfield).
NubDial enables you to search by both contact name and telephone number and supports accented characters.
- Quick contacts picture
- Add to contacts from dialer
- Set as default
- Auto hide dialpad
- Fling up/down & fast scrolling on contacts list
- Search matches any number sequence
Other features include being able to initiate an SMS from the app and linking to the call log and contacts menu. In addition it supports hyphens in US number format.
Currently coded for Android 2.0/2.1 (Eclair), Nubdial works on (but is not limited to) the Nexus One and Motorola Droid.
NubDial does not support GSM short codes.
Future developments include updating for Android 1.5 (Cupcake) and 1.6 (Donut).
Check out the application thread for more information including a link to the source code.
NubDial is available to download for free in the Market (Eclair market only).
