One Click Root Script for Thunderbolt
Posted March 28, 2011 at 03:00 am by egzthunder1
After a very nice discussion article regarding the pros and cons of One Click Root utilities, we figured it would be good timing to introduce a script created by XDA Moderator Captainkrtek (and tons of testing by NetForce-TX) to root the newly released HTC Thunderbolt. The script currently has a Windows version and it is, in essence, a batch type program that will guide you through the whole rooting process. The dev has made it simple enough to be rather fool proof, but still recommends to read a bit about it just in case something went wrong. There are a few pre-requisites before you can start playing with this tool, all of which have been listed by the dev in the thread. He is also working on a Linux version for all those Tux fanatics out there, so if you were feeling unloved for not running Windows, stay tuned.
The app has been tested and seems to work fine. However, any and all feedback is much very welcomed.
This is a simple batch file that will guide you in rooting your device.
It is pretty easy to follow along but please take your time and read everything. It has only been tested a few times so please report any errors or issues you find.
Huge thanks to NetForce-TX on IRC for testing along with helping, I owe you!
You can find more information in the application thread.
