Though no one should feel pressured into weighing themselves too regularly, having a small scale that you can easily take with you does have its benefits. Like taking it on a vacation without having to compress all your luggage, or never having to buy a new scales again should your current one break. This is exactly what Recognized Developer 1F0al brings us. The application is currently only available for tablet, because of the required screen real estate. It can store different profiles, making it easy to add family, friends, and even complete strangers—you know you want to!
Moreover, the app also uses your device’s capacitive touch functionality to get data on your water, muscle, and body fat percentage. By default, the application works with one foot. But if you happen to have a second tablet laying around, have a crack at one of the app’s cooler features. The app is able to operate in “mirror mode,” where the tablets link together via Bluetooth and then aggregate their separate measurements. Pretty neat, huh?
The app itself is relatively straight forward—just step on the foot image. The app recognizes the user from previous measurements, so you won’t have to be burdened with selecting your profile every time you get on. The application currently is in beta, but works remarkably well. Among features yet to be implemented are: weighing reminders, diet adviser, and “lie to me” mode. The upcoming phone version will launch with “One Heel Weighing Scales (OHWS)” support.
I would recommend using a tablet with a gorilla glass screen, which nearly all tablets have these days. But users have reported the app to work on other models as well. If you have any thoughts or feature requests, I wish to stress the importance of sharing your device specs and the state it is currently in.
So head on over to the original thread to check out the app. And remember, don’t let any number on the scale bring your down.___________________
