If you find yourself regularly editing apk files, or trying to optimise and repack and resign the file in order to re-install onto your Android mobile device, then this simple toolkit for Windows, put together by XDA forum member Neotelos_com may come in useful.
Inspired by other toolkits, the XDA member’s primary goal was to provide a seamless solution for reliable apk file editing and optimising.
The tool uses aapt rather than 7zip for packing as the dev states that provides much better reliability and assurance of conformance to Android file standards.
apkTools contains 7za 9.2, roptipng 0.6.3, aapt & zipalign SDK v8, apktool 1.3.2 and signapk. All libraries and binaries are up to date.
