Root for the Original Galaxy Gear Running Tizen

Just a few days ago, the original Samsung Galaxy Gear received an update that swapped out Android for Tizen. We now have some good news for Tizen-running Gear owners. No, there’s not yet a method to revert back to Android. But if you upgraded and wanted to play around with the Tizen OS, you are now free to do so, as root has been achieved.
Root for the Tizen-powered Gear comes in the form of an Odin-flashable package, courtesy of XDA Forum Member Jijonhyuni. And once the root-equipped Odin package is applied and the Tizen SDK installed, you are only three terminal commands away from root access. Naturally, there’s not that much that you can do with your newly rooted, Tizen-powered Gear just yet. However, there are a few basics such as muting your camera shutter sound and anything else requiring only simple file system modifications.
If you’ve got an original Galaxy Gear and find yourself in need of root, head over to the original thread and give this a go.
