PAC ROM Updated to Android 4.4.2–More Sweets for Everyone

Since the release of Android 4.4.2, most custom ROMs have been rebased to Google’s latest and greatest. However, this transition isn’t always without issue, as it requires lots of work porting existing features to a newer OS version. Earlier today, we shared a guide on building PAC on your own PC, but now it’s a great time to start a fresh sync as PAC has now gone to Android 4.4.2.
PAC ROM still remains an All-in-One ROM, with all core features from Paranoid Android, AOKP, and CyanogenMod—hence the name PAC. And with the update to KitKat, the developers bring the following improvements:
- All in One Rom [Core features from PA, AOKP and CM]
- PAC in Black
- Status bar tweaks
- Quick Settings Panel tweaks
- Notification Drawer tweaks
- Lockscreen Notifications
- Active Display
- Gesture Anywhere
- Init.d scripts
- Build.prop Mods
- Statusbar Weather
- Recents RAM Bar
- PAC Console
- Latest Version Nightly Builds
- OTA Updates
- Changelog Viewer
- Basically if there is a cool feature out there and it’s open source, then we will try to bring that feature into PAC-man (insert PAC-man eating a pellet sound here)
- And of course: Android 4.4.2
As you can see, many cool features have been added here and there, and the ROM can finally be black like SlimROM. PAC is widely available for a large number of devices and has over 150 thousand total installations. A more detailed change log can be found on the team’s Gerrit and Github. The newest version of PAC can be found in various forum threads or on the official project website. You should also receive an OTA notification when the update is available for your device. Get your phones ready, as more and more ghosts will be eaten up by a happy yellow ball in the coming hours!
