When posting status updates on services like Facebook, the more observant among us may notice that the like to share what device you are posting from. In what is probably among the most subliminal advertisement, your Facebook news feed (assuming you still have one) is littered with posts that are sent via Facebook for iPhone, or via Android, and so on. Now, there is an application that lets you choose what what you post your status updates from.
XDA Forum Member smart_desk posted an application that lets users choose what device their Facebook statuses say they were posted from. Here is how smart_desk explains it:
You can also have facebook status updates with a tag like this even if you do not have an actual device . Install this app and update your status update through the app , the status update will look like it was posted from a real device ( that you don’t have ) .
Your facebook friends will be amazed to see your status updates which are posted from different devices like an Ipad , Blackberry etc .
Does this app have any real use? Not even a little bit outside of trolling your friends. The list of devices you claim you own is pretty big, and includes several dozen options. There were also some joke options, like Jupiter, Jingle Bells, MSDOS, Microwave Oven, and others.
