In case you haven’t already heard the name Bit Defender, they have a strong portfolio of useful applications. Some of their work includes the cloud storage client Safebox, a mobile security application, and an app that will check your device for the now infamous Carrier IQ. The latest addition to the Bit Defender family is called Power Tune Up and features some very useful tools to keep your device in check.
We all like to get the most out of our phones, whether it’s reclaiming some memory consumed by useless files or squeezing a few extra minutes out of our batteries. To this end, XDA Senior Member m0fizor states that Power Tune Up will, “Put control back in your hands and optimise your Android device for maximum performance, battery economy and controlled data traffic.”
Features of the utility include:
- Device Clean Up – Claw back both internal and external storage space by removing unnecessary tempory/cache files.
- 3G Traffic Monitoring – Manage data flow by setting thresholds and receiving notifications about your usage.
- Battery Saving Modes – Preset or user defined energy saving profiles.
- Battery Widget – Displays the amount of talktime or standby remaining.
The app is currently in beta so there may be some issues. However, those wishing to give it a try can do so from the application thread.
