One perk of carrying around an expensive smartphone is the fact that you can show off all the cool tips, tricks, hacks, games, and everything that you can think of to all your friends. However, it is almost inevitable that someone may ask for your phone to mess with it for a bit and then just wonder out of your sight. There are many apps in your device that can contain potentially private data as well as some others that may have important things like your credit card linked to them, a good example being the market or the Amazon app. How do you prevent your friends and loved ones from buying stuff with your account or even from checking your email without your permission? Luckily, thanks to XDA member leducbao there is now an easy way to do this. Advanced App Locker can use various methods of authentication to prevent such people from being overly curious about the contents of your phone. The app can allow groups of apps to become usable for a certain period of time before getting locked again.
If you found this app useful or if you found any bugs, please leave feedback for the dev.
Advanced App Locker (AAL) protects installed applications and games from unauthorized access. AAL supports locking per applications basic with four different alternative locking methods: PIN, password, black screen, and dial a number. One can pick a method as the default one, which can be used for most applications. She then can select other method for individual apps. The unlocking options are also very flexible: open one app can authorize for other apps too, validity period defines when the unlocking will become invalid.
You can find more information in the application thread.
