Remind Yourself with Notable

The status bar and slide-down notification area is one of the defining and most accessed features of the Android operating system. Easily accessible in almost any app, it is essentially the hub of new notifications, information such as the time and date, and weather and also the home to various settings toggles. Now add clean and simple reminders to the list as well with Notable.

Independently developed by XDA Forum Member icechen1, Notable allow users to set little reminders to ones self in the notification area. These simple and unobtrusive reminders can be set with a color of four offered: white, green, orange and red, and display user-set memos. Once viewed or completed, these reminders can be removed either by tapping on them, or for users of Android version 4.0 and newer, swiping them away. Jelly Bean users also have the option to edit reminders thanks to expandable notifications. Multiple reminders can be made, along with app settings to allow ‘swipe-to-remove’ and to activate ‘quick shortcut’ to create new reminders in the notification area.

Originally developed to simply rid of icechen1’s woes of the slow process in creating simple reminders, the developer has now made Notable available to any Android user with version 2.1 and newer. Free and ad-free on the Play store, be sure to check out the original thread for more details.
