Samsung Galaxy Blaze 4G Root and ClockworkMod Recovery

Just a few days ago, we brought you news that the Samsung Galaxy Blaze was rooted, leading to the T-Mobile SGS II acquiring a new modem. Unfortunately, the root method wasn’t released at the time, and many Blaze owners were wondering just when and if those potentially dangerous root method were ever going to be released. The answer, of course, is yes. Not only did the Galaxy Blaze acquire root, but it also gained ClockworkMod recovery. All it needs now is a batch of flashable ROMs.

XDA Recognized Developer k0nane released the root method, which is similar to what’s used for other Samsung Galaxy S phones. Simply load ODIN 1.85, the rooted kernel and PIT file, and flash away. After that, you’re rooted. There’s a bit more to it than that, but the developer gives users some very detailed instructions to make everything work properly.

As if that weren’t enough, literally 5 minutes later XDA Recognized Developer shabbypenguin released a .tar that adds ClockworkMod recovery to the device. The instructions are pretty much the same, load the .tar up in ODIN and flash accordingly. While there aren’t any custom ROMs yet for the Blaze, users can at least get in, make a Nandroid backup, and prepare for any ROMs that do come their way.

You can find additional information, download links, and instructions in k0nane’s root thread. Next, head over to shabbypenguin’s recovery thread for a double dose of rooted/custom recovery awesomeness.
