Not too long ago, there was an app in the Android Market called ShootMe. This app basically allows you to not only take screenshots of your device but it also allows you to do screencasting, which basically translates to doing video of your screens. The original app was rather limited though as it only allowed you to make videos at rather low FPS (frames per second). Well, XDA member neckface wanted something a bit faster out of this, so the dev decided to tinker with the internals of the app to get more out of it. After a little while, he came up with a mod that would allow him to shoot the video at 30, 45, and even 9001 FPS! The app has been removed from the market for some reason, but still works. Also, the dev provides a link to the modded app in his thread, but it seems to not be working. However, not all hope is lost because if you want to look for the app and find it, the dev has provided the necessary information to do this yourself.
Please leave some feedback and share the app with the rest of the community if you find it.
Shoot Me came out with an update a couple of days ago that brought screencasting. But only at 3, 5, and 10 frames per second.
I then saw Amon RA post a YouTube video of him screencasting at 30 fps.
I wanted it, so I baksmali’d the app and started poking around and found it was an easy mod.
You can find more information in the mod thread.
