Not too long ago, Google updated its native YouTube app with popup player support. However, this functionality was only present when browsing other videos in the YouTube app itself. More useful, however, would have been the ability to watch YouTube videos while in other apps. Luckily, there are always crafty developers out there who are able to give us the added functionality we so desire.
XDA Senior Member ermacwins presents Showtime, which is an aftermarket YouTube application that brings many features to enhance your YouTube experience. First of all, it features a resizable popup player, which plays atop any open application. This feature can also be used to play your own local videos over any apps. You can also minimize and play videos in the background, which is useful for those extended Daft Punk sessions. You can even sign into your YouTube account from the application to view your favorites, playlists, history, and more. Finally, the interface is beautifully designed, supporting the new sliding tabs UI for easier navigation.
To up the ante on your YouTube experience, head over to the application thread and give Showtime a shot._________
